Massage Treatments

A professional massage can help to relieve many stresses and strains. Massage techniques can be used to relax tight muscles and improve blood flow, which might then help the general posture. Some people also feel that it helps to relax the mind for a while, thus helping with general focus and sleep.

We have both female and male massage therapists at the Bexley Osteopathic Clinic. Here are a selection of the massages they specialise in:

Deep Tissue Massage

This massage focuses on reaching deeper layers of muscle and connective tissues to relieve pain and stiffness. Oils or wax are used to relax muscles using massage techniques that are applied with deeper pressure and at a slow rate to areas of tension and discomfort. It’s a technique that works by physically breaking down hard areas of rigid tissue called adhesions.

Virginie’s massage was amazing. She hit all the right spots and as a result I felt tension free afterwards. My range of movement was greatly improved, also.”

“Craig has a great combination of pressures, as needed, and really released the tension in my back and shoulders, with some stretches too. I would definitely recommend him!”

Sports Massage

This is a controlled treatment for anyone in need of a remedial or soft tissue mobilisation; from people working long hours at their desk, to those in manual jobs, to athletes and sporty people. Not only can it help with specific musculoskeletal problems and performance enhancement, it can help relieve general muscular tension, break down adhesions, mobilise soft tissues and reduce pain. Patients may be given targeted stretches and/or strengthening exercises by the therapist to aid recovery following treatment.

“Craig has an amazing understanding of the body. I’m a professional dancer and really need high-quality body work. He’s very intelligent and knowledgeable in his work – highly recommend!”

I feel like a new man after my treatment with Virginie.”

Swedish Holistic Massage

A full body massage that helps to improve blood circulation and promotes relaxation through soothing and loosening your muscles. This therapeutic massage can be used to reduce stress, decrease pain and increase feelings of calmness and well-being.

“I felt tension free after my Swedish massage with Virginie.”

Hot Stone Massage

A treatment that penetrates muscles and soft tissue more deeply than a deep tissue massage. Smooth, flat, heated stones are positioned along your spine and other key acupressure points on your body to help ease tension, relax muscles, improve circulation, and relieve any soft tissue pain. The treatment begins with a Swedish holistic massage technique to prepare your muscles before the hot stones are applied. The hot stones will warm and relax your muscles, allowing deeper pressure to be applied during your massage while the stones are in place. This treatment may also aid in pain relief, promote sleep, and alleviate stress, anxiety, and depression.

“Craig is amazing. Fantastic massage, very professional.”

Express Massage

This is a shorter, focused massage that focuses on two body parts only.  An Express Massage is designed to target specific areas of tension and stress. This treatment typically lasts 30 or 45 minutes or less, making it a great option for those with busy schedules or those who are new to massage therapy. Various massage techniques are used to relieve specific muscles that are in a chronic state of tightness or soreness.

“Highly recommend an express massage with Virginie. 5 star treatment.”

“Craig approaches his massage therapy in a very professional and methodical manner, whilst at the same time ensuring that you are relaxed. Would recommend Craig without hesitation for his ability to put you at ease.”
